Why can't I use my Child Care Benefit anymore?

Originally, we began supporting Child Care Benefit (CCB) with the intent to improve the financial stability of our community through the end of the year (or until Community Members updated their job status.

In reality, we were not able to predict certain aspects of the IRS process that did not go as planned. A large portion of the CCB checks arrived by mail, or did not arrive at all. This makes it difficult for us to maintain our system in a way that is convenient and helpful for you, and so we had to make the hard decision to stop this feature.

On September 15, 2021, we will be discontinuing the ability to cash out your Child Care Benefits (CCB).

What does this mean for you?

  • You are still able to cash out on your Child Care Benefits up until the cutoff date of September 14th.
  • If you are currently employed, or if you start working soon: please ensure that your employer and bank account information are up to date in the Earnin app.  You will need to link the bank account where you receive your direct deposit.
  • If you are currently unemployed: unfortunately we are not able to support cashing out at this time.

We thank you for your patience and understanding!

If you have questions, please reach out to our support team via our 24/7 Chat in the app.
