Getting started with earnings

This article is about earnings, if you’re looking for information about how much money you can cash out (Max), go to help.earnin.com/Max.

What are earnings?

Earnings represent the portion of your pay that you can access before payday.

Your current earnings amount appears on your home screen and the Activity tab.

How are my earnings verified?

Here’s how to verify earnings through EarnIn.

Work email verification. To sign up, go to Settings > My Earnings and enter your work-provide email address.

Using GPS earnings. To sign up, go to Settings > My Earnings and provide your work location.

If neither of those options work, you can upload your weekly timesheets.

How are my earnings calculated?

EarnIn verifies your earnings based on the direct deposits going to your linked bank account

Your daily earnings amount is your average paycheck amount divided by the number of days in the pay period.

If you’ve been working, you’ll get three days worth of earnings on payday so you can transfer out. Your earnings then tick up every day you work, until you reach your Pay Period Max.

So if you see earnings no longer increasing, you now have access to all of your available funds for this pay period.

Why do my earnings reset every payday?

Your unused earnings reset because the current pay period has ended.

Your Pay Period Max may increase or decrease, resetting your earnings allows your earned wage access experience to be accurate.

I work from home. How do I access my earnings?

If you work from home (either full-time, occasionally, or have a hybrid schedule) you can use work email earnings. Learn more here: How do work email earnings work?

GPS earnings will not work for community members who work from home or travel to different work locations. Verify your work email to automatically track your earnings.

Can I use EarnIn if I only receive social security or government benefits?

EarnIn does not work with Social Security or any other government benefits at this time. We're always working to make more payment types available, so please check back with us in the future.

I’m a salaried employee. Why does EarnIn have to track the hours I worked?

EarnIn does not track hours, but we do confirm your work status using your work email or the GPS earnings feature.

Since we operate independently from your employer, we use these features to verify your employment status.
