Tip Yourself is a feature that lets community members save money via the EarnIn app. Use Tip Jar funds to reward yourself, as a savings technique, or a rainy day fund.
With Tip Yourself, you can tip any amount between $1-$100 per day. For instance, If you have two jars, you can add $50 per jar, per day.
You can transfer out money from your Tip Jar(s) at any time, for any reason. You can have a maximum of 5 Tip Jars at once with a combined total of $2,000.
Tip Yourself is not an interest-bearing account or a savings account. Tip Jars do not pay interest or provide any other forms of income. We cannot provide any tax advice about your Tip Jar funds, please consult with your tax professional if you need assistance.
There are no fees to use Tip Yourself (0% Annual Percentage Yield and $0 monthly fee). However, you are responsible for overdrafts, insufficient funds, or any fees charged by the financial institution of your funding account.
Is my money protected?
Cash in deposit accounts is insured by the FDIC up to the standard maximum deposit insurance amount per depositor, per FDIC-insured bank, and per ownership category. For more information on FDIC insurance coverage, please visit FDIC.gov.
This service is provided to you through a custodial account deposit agreement between you and Evolve Bank & Trust, an Arkansas chartered depository institution, and is a member of the FDIC.

When will my Tip Jar withdrawal post to my checking account?
Tip Jar withdrawals done on weekdays follow this schedule:
- Withdrawals requested before 12 p.m. ET will arrive the same day (in the afternoon).
- Withdrawals requested between 12 p.m. and 8 p.m. EST will arrive the next day (in the morning)
- Withdrawals requested after 8 p.m. EST will arrive the next day (in the afternoon)
Withdrawals do not post on holidays or weekends. Withdrawals requested on holidays or weekends post the next business day.
When will my deposit post to my Tip Jar?
Tip Jar deposits follow the same schedule as above, however funds are not made available for withdrawals for 3 business days. Delays may occur for specific transactions.

My Tip Yourself AutoSave rule overdrafted my account. Can I get a refund of the bank fee?
Community members are responsible for ensuring they have sufficient funds in their checking account to add to their Tip Jars.
If the automated deposit is debited to your bank account that is not based on your set AutoSave pay frequency schedule, please contact support so we can review.
Are there any bank transfer reviews with my Tip Jar?
We review account and transaction activity at various times, including when you initiate a transfer of funds into and out of your Tip Jar. We may use proprietary fraud and risk modeling when completing this review and assessing any potential risk.
This review checks for, among other things, suspicious or illegal activity, and whether your account activity complies with EarnIn’s Terms of Service. The review may result in:
- Delayed, blocked, or canceled transfers, account interruption, and withheld funds.
- Funds being applied to a negative account balance or to offset the loss incurred by EarnIn.
- Funds being seized to comply with a court order, warrant, or other legal processes.
