What is the Bill Reminders feature?

How do Bill Reminders work?

Bill Reminders works by sending you alerts when your bills are coming up, so you stay on top of payments and avoid fees. You can add new bills to track in a few ways

  1. Manually: You can enter and edit your bills by hand in the app at any time
  2. Automatically:
    1. You can connect your bank account, and EarnIn will find recurring bills. You can add up to 5 bills total,  including your housing and car payments.
    2. If you use your EarnIn Card to pay recurring bills, EarnIn will pull those instead. You can add up to 5 bills, including your housing and car payments.

The tool keeps track of when your bills are due, how much you owe, and how often you pay each bill. And if you have less than 5 bills that you’re tracking, It can even find new recurring bills as they happen, so you can add those.

How do I sign up for Bill Reminders?

Bill Reminders works by pulling recurring transactions from your linked bank account OR your EarnIn Card (if you have one).

  1. You can find Bill Reminders in the discovery tab on your app homepage.

  1. Next, manually enter your housing and car payments, if you have either. You can edit these at any time.
  2. Then, EarnIn will automatically search for any recurring charges on your EarnIn Card (if you have and use one) OR your linked bank account.
  3. You can also manually enter bill, if you don’t see one or more of your recurring bills

For every bill, you can:

  • Mark it as important, so you can make sure you always have enough cash and earnings to pay the bill on time
  • Opt in to receive in app alerts
  • And add it to your calendar

You can edit any bill by clicking on it in your recurring transactions page or the Bill Reminders flow chart.

The Bill Reminder service is offered by EarnIn, based on information derived from your linked bank account. You can turn off Bill Reminder at any time by adjusting your settings within your EarnIn account.

How much does Bill Reminders cost?

Bill Reminders is currently a no-cost offering for all EarnIn community members.

Will Bill Reminders automatically pay my bills?

At this point, the Bill Reminders feature does not process payments for any bills. It sends you notifications about upcoming payments and lets you see how your cash and earnings match up with paying your top bills on time.

While we aim to assist with reminders, it is ultimately your responsibility to ensure your bills are paid on time. We recommend verifying payment amounts and due dates with your bill provider.

How is Bill Reminders different from what other banks or apps offer?

EarnIn’s Bill Reminders feature not only alerts you to upcoming bills, it also helps track how your cash and earnings align with those bills during your pay period.

Unlike traditional banks, which typically offer simple reminders, EarnIn focuses on real-time income-to-expense tracking tied directly to your pay cycle. It’s more than just a budgeting tool - it helps guide decisions on when and how much it's safe to spend based on your available cash and earnings.

The Bill Reminder service is offered by EarnIn, not by its banking partners. EarnIn is not a bank.

How secure is my bill information?

We take your privacy and security seriously. We use the latest in security technology to keep your data protected. And we never sell your personal information.

Are my reminders guaranteed to be accurate?

Bill Reminders are estimates and may not always reflect the exact amount or due date of your bills. They are intended as a helpful guide. The service predicts bills from past payments.

Always double-check your bills and due dates to avoid missed payments.

Who is responsible for paying my bills on time?

While we aim to assist with reminders, it is ultimately your responsibility to ensure your bills are paid on time. We recommend verifying payment amounts and due dates with your bill provider.

What should I do if I notice incorrect or missing reminders?

If you notice discrepancies, check your account statements or contact your billing provider directly.
