Cash Out Link: How it works

What is Cash Out Link?

Cash Out Link is a way to request funds through the EarnIn app using a bank-provided overdraft account from Lead Bank, Member FDIC.

There’s no tipping, and each approved request includes a $1.99 service fee.

Cash Out Link can work with different types of income, not just employment wages. Depending on your situation, supported income sources can include:

  • Social Security (SSA)
  • Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits

You’ll confirm your income source during setup so the app can determine what’s available to you.

Note: EarnIn is a financial technology company, not a bank. Cash Out Link is not available in all states.

How Cash Out Link works

Cash Out Link works through an overdraft account powered by your EarnIn Central Account.

Here’s how it works:

  • You request funds in the app.
  • If approved, funds are sent to your linked bank account.
  • Your Cash Out Link balance becomes negative by the amount you received (plus any fees).
  • That balance is automatically repaid when you get paid or receive eligible income.

You’ll see your available amount in the app before you request funds.

What is an EarnIn Central Account?

Your EarnIn Central Account is a bank account opened with Lead Bank that’s required to use Cash Out Link. It’s the account that makes Cash Out Link possible and helps manage how money moves in and out of the app.

Your EarnIn Central Account allows you to:

  • Request funds through Cash Out Link
  • See your Cash Out Link balance and repayments in one place
  • Manage repayments and account activity in the app

You’ll open this account during setup, connect your bank, and agree the applicable bank terms before requesting funds.

Delivery speed and fees

When you request funds, you can choose how fast you want them delivered:

  • Standard (ACH): usually arrives in 1–2 business days
  • Lightning Speed: faster delivery when available, typically within 30 minutes, with an additional fee shown before you confirm

Fees to expect

  • A $1.99 service fee applies to every approved request, including Standard (ACH) delivery
  • The Lightning Speed speed fee is an additional cost to the $1.99 service fee.
    • Lightning Speed fee details: $10-$75: $3.99, >$75-$150: $5.99
  • You won’t see tipping prompts

Daily and total limits

Your available amount can change over time based on things like deposit patterns and account activity.

In general, you may see:

  • Up to $150 per day
  • Up to $1,000 per pay or income period

Your current available amount is shown in the app.

Repayment timing and status

Repayment is usually collected automatically on your income payday.

Here’s what to know:

  • Repayment is first attempted from incoming deposits you route to your EarnIn Central Account
  • If needed, repayment may be collected from your linked bank account
  • You can make an early payment at any time in the app. Tap Activity > View and Pay.

If you need to change a repayment date, you can contact customer support via in-app chat.

If your linked bank account doesn’t have enough funds when a repayment is attempted, your bank may charge overdraft or NSF fees based on its own policies.
