How does Early Pay work?
With Early Pay, you can access your paycheck up to two days early for a flat fee of $2.99 per paycheck.
Here’s how you sign up:
1. Create an EarnIn Account (if you don’t have one yet)
2. Follow the steps to create a Deposit Account with our banking partner
3. Select Lightning Speed if you want to receive your paycheck early ($2.99 fee per paycheck applies, charged by our banking partner)
4. Provide the debit card number associated with your linked bank account
5. Provide your new Deposit Account number to your employer. You can find the account and routing number, in the EarnIn app, under the “settings” tab, the numbers are displayed below your name.
Your paycheck is transferred by our banking partner to your linked bank account, per your instructions in the EarnIn app. Funds are usually available on the day your employer processes payroll, which may be up to 2 days before your scheduled payday.
Why is a debit card required for getting my paycheck early?
A verified debit card allows us to send your paycheck up to two days early. Without a debit card on file, you’ll get your paycheck on your regular payday.
How do I route my direct deposit?
After you’ve opened a Deposit Account with our banking partner in the EarnIn app, you’ll be asked to switch your paycheck to this account. You can switch the routing of your paycheck automatically, by following the instructions to connect your payroll provider to our app.
Alternatively, you can switch your paycheck manually by downloading from the app a pre-filled direct deposit authorization form and sending it to your employer.
The process may take 1-2 pay periods to take effect, depending on your employer or payroll provider.
To find your account and routing number, log in to the EarnIn app, go to the “settings” tab, the numbers are displayed below your name.
What is the Early Pay fee?
The Early Pay fee is a $2.99 charge applied by our banking partner when you select the Lightning Speed option to have your paycheck deposited into your linked bank account up to 2 days early. Please note, if you select the standard transfer option, your paycheck will be routed to your linked bank account for free on your regular payday.
Is Early Pay available everywhere?
No. Early Pay is not available for residents of Connecticut, the District of Columbia, or Maryland. Also, the availability of early funds is not guaranteed anywhere and may vary from paycheck to paycheck. Early access to your paycheck depends on the timing of your employer’s payroll processing.
If I also want to use EarnIn’s Cash Out services, what do I need to do ?
To use Cash Out, you’ll first verify your employment and earnings.
There are two ways to verify earnings through EarnIn:
-
Verifying your work-provided email address.
- Earnings will be updated automatically every day.
-
Entering your work location and enabling GPS location tracking on your device.
- Bring your device to work each day to add earnings and enable GPS tracking. If you allow location tracking at all times, your Pay Period Max and Daily Max may increase, as this helps us confirm the number of hours you were at work.
Enable both of these earnings methods for the best EarnIn experience.
Next, you can transfer out a portion of the money you've earned (up to $150 per day, limited to $750 per pay period - If you have a Deposit Account and make qualifying direct deposits, you can get an additional $50 to $300 per pay period, not to exceed $1,000):
1. Go to the EarnIn app home screen.
2. Click the Transfer button. For a successful transfer, make sure the following are true:
- Earnings are available in your EarnIn account.
- You haven't reached your Daily Max or Pay Period Max.
3. You’ll see your money in your linked bank account in 1-2 business days via ACH, or within 30 minutes if you pay the Lightning Speed fee.
