1. How do I access EarnIn Payroll?
EarnIn Payroll is only available if your employer uses EarnIn Payroll. If your employer signs up for EarnIn Payroll, you’ll be prompted to answer onboarding questions to get your account set up.
2. What is the Work Hub feature in the EarnIn app?
The Work Hub feature lets you view your payroll details, like pay stubs, upcoming pay dates, gross/net pay, and deductions and request time off directly in the EarnIn app. Additionally, you’ll have a work profile page where you can add personal details, and have quick access to work documents.
The exact details you see will depend on the information your employer provides.
2. Is EarnIn my payroll provider?
No. EarnIn is a software provider, not a payroll processing company. We do not run payroll, issue your paycheck, or make changes to your payroll data. All payroll processing is handled by your employer or their payroll provider.
3. I see an error in my payroll information. What should I do?
If your payroll information is incorrect or incomplete, please contact your employer’s HR or payroll department. EarnIn cannot change or correct payroll information on your account.
4. Can I update my payroll information in the EarnIn app?
You can update your bank account information for direct deposit directly in the EarnIn app.
Tap the paycheck tile to access your Work Hub
Some payroll updates, such as changes to your direct deposit setup, tax elections and emergency contacts may need to be approved by your employer.
5. How do I change bank account information?
You can update your bank account anytime in the EarnIn app or website under Direct Deposit Setup. From there, you can:
- Add a new account by either linking it securely with Plaid or Akoya or entering your bank account information manually.
- Remove or change an account so your paycheck goes where you want it.
- Split your paycheck between multiple accounts by choosing an amount or percentage for each.
Please note: your employer may need to approve changes to your bank account information.
6. Do I have to link my bank account?
No. Linking your bank account with our service providers (Plaid and Akoya) is optional. It’s just a faster way to connect your bank account so you can receive your paycheck on payday.
When you link your bank account with Plaid or Akoya:
- Your bank account information may be used to verify your account and to enable other EarnIn features if you choose to use them. We will only use your bank transaction data if you decide to use those services. We do not share your data with your employer.
- Your information is protected with bank-level security and encryption. We never store your login credentials and never sell your data.
- You may be redirected to your financial institution, where their Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.
If you prefer, you can always enter your account information manually instead. However, you will be required to link your bank account if you decide to use other EarnIn features.
6. Will my employer see my EarnIn activity or financial information?
No. Your employer will not have access to your EarnIn account activity, financial information, or transaction history. The payroll data displayed in the app comes from your employer, but the data you share with EarnIn stays private.
7. What other services can I use in the EarnIn app?
Along with the EarnIn Payroll, you can enroll in other EarnIn services at any time, such as:
These services are optional and separate from EarnIn Payroll.
8. Do I need to connect my bank account to use the EarnIn Payroll feature?
When you set up your EarnIn Payroll account, you can connect your bank account either automatically or manually.
- Automatic connection – This is the faster option and uses a secure third-party service that links your bank account by having you log in with your online banking username and password. The service then shares your account details (such as account and routing numbers) with EarnIn so we can confirm where to send your paycheck. If you choose this method, the service also shares your transaction history, but EarnIn will only use this information if you later enroll in other EarnIn products, such as Cash Out or Early Pay.
-
Benefits of automatic connection:
- No need to manually type in your account and routing numbers
- Faster setup, your account is verified instantly
- Reduced risk of errors in account entry
- Manual connection – You can enter your bank account and routing numbers yourself to receive your paycheck. This option does not give EarnIn access to your transaction history and can be a good choice if you are not interested in using other EarnIn products.
9. Does enrolling in EarnIn Payroll automatically sign me up for other EarnIn services?
No. Enrolling in Payroll Data does not automatically enroll you in any other EarnIn financial services. You will always have the choice to opt in to additional products, such as Cash Out or Early Pay.
10. How do I disconnect my bank account from EarnIn?
You can disconnect your bank account by tapping the paycheck tile on your homescreen to access the Work hub. Find the Direct Deposit Setup option, tap the Edit button next to the account to be removed, and click Remove Account.
If you disconnect your bank account, you will need to manually enter your bank account and routing numbers so your direct deposit continues without interruption.
11. Is my payroll and financial information secure?
Yes. We use industry-standard encryption and strict security protocols to protect your data. We will never sell your personal information, and we do not share your EarnIn account activity with your employer. See our privacy policy.
